Plus lodging a patent too early would eat up the patent life for no benefit.
The risk is that someone else lodges a patent for a bisantrene companion diagnostic before RAC does.
That risk isn't keeping me awake at night.
Actually I don't expect that RAC will ever get around to lodging a companion diagnostic patent under its current ownership. But having started down that pathway already adds value for BP now.
