learning on the job is fine, but you get one go at this. Buyers sole goal is to buy at the cheapest possible price, sellers goal is to obtain maximum price. Buyers won’t offer the real price upfront. Only way an inexperienced seller can obtain maximum value is when there are multiple buyers who absolutely want the product and will enter a bidding war. Could well happen here, but I’d rather have a consultant alongside that has done this several times before. I’d assume RAC will engage the right person at the right time.
For those that think I’m attacking Dr C, or jump to defend him, I can assure you I’m not. Negotiating buyouts is a very specific skill that not many possess.
