Pillar 2 - Breast Cancer

Expected to be the first trial to start, so good to build our knowledge of the Breast Cancer indications that RACE are targeting. Essentially it's broad chemotherapy.

I found some statistics on usage of Chemotherapy for treating Breast Cancer.

At Stage 1 and 2, 37% of breast cancer patients are treated with chemotherapy.
At Stage 3, a minimum of 78% of patients are treated with chemotherapy.
At Stage 4, a minimum of 18% of patients are treated with chemotherapy.

I have greyed out a line since some patients in the group that doesn't have surgery are treated with radiotherapy or chemotherapy.



Other stats from the UK indicate across all cancer stages that 34% of breast cancer patients receive chemo:

A study from china with data up to 2008 has a total of 65.8% of Breast Cancer patients receiving anthracycline-based chemotherapy.

So if the chinese study is accurate (it is over 10 years old now), RACE are looking to replace Anthracyclines, so are aiming at a massively wide zone that covers 65.8% of the Breast Cancer chemotherapy market.
