Qantas single aircraft licence - about 10 years in the industry
$1220 + shift penalties.
1 grade every 4 years or 1 grade with a new licence type. Most engineers have 2 licences and about 20 years of service on average.
Average pay is level 8 or 9 which is $1561 - $1647 per week
plus shift penalties. Maximum shift penalties are 40%. People working in the heavy maintenance departments get no shift penalties.

Single Licence $125,000 for Mechanical $140,000 for Avionics. Plus an $8000/year allowance for permanant night shift workers.
