Gerry - sometimes the profanity filters and moderators get a bit carried away. Yesterday I tried to post about FXR having risen p*rabolically, but the profanity filter wouldn't let me post the word "pa*abolic" because of the contained 4 letters that presumably were deemed to be racist! I had to edit the word and make it "steeply" which of course isn't quite the same thing.

But - when I tried to post a comment about this under the 'General' heading - the post was blocked by the moderators. The heading was there in the list, but the post was "not available".

Bit touchy, aren't we? ;)

That profanity filter really is a bit of an anacronism, with asterisks being able to bypass it for example, so what's the point in having it if it doesn't even allow words that CONTAIN other words that it deems unacceptable?

No other forum I am on has filters like this, and there doesn't seem to be rampant racism, profanity, or insults.
