oh Paris? Was it?

Hmmmm - well, Paris is a long way for me and I haven't seen an Olympic opening in ??? maybe half a century - so, my gf was going to watch it and wanted me to watch it (if I could bear it) - normally, it's my reading time.

I suffered for as long as I could - but, by god the alphabet is long when it's painful

I didn't make it far - I retired to the reading.

My take -

Lady Ga Ga has gotten fat.
It rains in Paris - and IMO, the old story about Paris is best when it's raining - IMO, that's a bullshit one
Paris transformed from the Paris I dislike into some other kind of Paris I dislike - some kind of sterile set.
I thought the decorated bridge was pretty
Sonia's arms - she wouldn't be happy with that.

That's about all I got from the suffering

My opinion on modern Olympics for a city hasn't changed (the French started modern Olympics btw - they think so)

I've got a friend who has been to 10 Olympics - I look forward to asking his opinion - I'll pass it on.
