Also, call me cynical but I doubt that a recent boys death at the Abidjan airport has been the motivation to the clearing of thousands of people leaving around the Abidjan airport. Might have something to do with expansion.

Add in the water project and it looks like a capital is surging itself forward.

The Presidential election is in October, but I can't see that being an issue, as the man in power wants to keep it and has issued a warrant for an opponent. Besides if he can show that he is delivering water to the locals his political clout is surely only going to be fortified.
