Yeah but the analogy only works if there is genuine consideration of the value of comparable assets. Just cause $50 a share makes some people rich based on their initial purchase price, that doesn't mean its representative of fair value and a good outcome for all.
It would be akin to paying $35k for a house in Brisbane in the early 80s and selling it now for $350k cause it represents a Disallowed from your original purchase and you don't need anymore than that for a comfortable retirement given your personal circumstances, even if every other house in the street with similar stats - land size, bedrooms, bathrooms etc are $2m.
