Further political pressure and arguements with Timor are all leading to a closer oil gas relationship with PNG.Ramos-Horta is really playing hardball on something the Fed gov thought would be a non-event. Might be better political milage in PNG development as Timor has got too smart for our diplomatsn and are bending us over while the international court does an internal probing. Ouch!! You bad boy Johny. Pricing margin for OSH will have increased with this uncertainty and seeming oversupply is drying up. Some more Comapanies may commit.
Thermal engineer friend has recently been handed briefs on ensuring feasability of PNG gas on a new development as a conversion proposal after 7 years. Seems design must incorporate prospect of gas supply at a reasonable effeciency as a part retrofit. Qld will need more generation and Kyoto likes gas.
Bloody lot of politics in this no wonder even when the numbers add up it is so slow. Lots of stuff happening in the background here but the old "if it's there we'll use it" seems to be the answer from non multinational Aust companies with little foresight and lots of commitment phobia is the problem.
