Great series on the ABC some time ago about the Seven Industrial Wonders of the Modern World..... amazing what worked, didn't work, what was sometimes driven by schemers, sometimes by dreamers, some by big egos, some precipitating economic collapse, some for economic recovery with building of infrastructure, employing people.

The best environmental ideas can sometimes unleash cane toads, have to look at all possible positive and negative outcomes. HOWEVER, if we do it right, the best way, with the least greed, the best advice, the least bureaucratic nonsense... we could ADD so much value to this country in so many ways. It is not just about what it is going to cost now. It still needs to be done the best way, the most environmental and economical way.

Of course, there are also large artesian basins, water under the ground.... putting water where you want it is one thing, using it wisely includes keeping water where you want it... IMO this would require massive regeneration of various types of suitable plants..... keeping in mind the fauna, fires (man-made and lightning), mosquitos, toads...

YES WE CAN. I would give up my bonus to see it done right, but every good steward, water bearer can tell you about problems with holes in buckets... if the holes are there in the poor buckets, water spills out, if it is carried recklessly, water will never arrive, if the water goes to the wrong place you may as well flush it down the toilet.
