Is it economically feasible ? The ongoing pumping costs ? and maintenance costs ? Long distance from north to south.
Also, you are assuming that there will be large floods all the time (Queenslanders may not like that idea) year in year out to supply that volume of water needed ?
I am not familiar with the technical engineering aspects of such a scheme.
