The reasoning was the impending commercialisation of the diabetes testing in the US with Sonic Healthcare as the exclusive diagnostic partner and the fact that there is an agreed reimbursement for the test to Sonic of which PIQ will receive a royalty stream.

For me in addition to above is the lure of a endometriosis test as the second key product. We have a family member afflicted by endo’ and this is a massive market which is crying out for early detection. In fact undiagnosed endo’ is a shocking factor that makes the impact of the disease so much worse for sufferers.

As an aside I generally steer away from bio-Pharma (my last experience was SRX a few years ago where I finally got out with a small gain). However the very near term commercialisation of the diabetes test and my reasonable knowledge of endo’ makes me confident to invest in PIQ.
