No kidding on the opportunity cost - it has been huge and that is what makes me even more suspicious of the PSA BOD and management.

Granted that they have a big stake in the company, one would expect that as rational humans they would want to maximize their wealth. They haven't.

IMO their actions have all been in the opposite direction and resulted in an adverse outcome not only for themselves, but the majority public shareholders as well: impose the maximum negative impact on the share price at all times while creating wealth inside the company.

As they are a minority that controls the company, they cause the public to bear the brunt of the losses while also paying themselves IMO an outrageous income from the company that shareholders have no access to.

SO IMO when the time comes that all those losses on the books are used up, the properties written down on the books to nothing causing the share price to sag,(Just like VRL did with their Asian assets and then SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE - they flog them at a big profit...), and the company is carry a huge amount of cash on the books, a low ball offer slightly over the then current price will be made to buy out the public shareholders.

With the income the management and execs have taken out of PSA over the past couple of years and the amount they'll get in the next couple combined with what they currently own in the form of shares and options, they could do it without any problems.

Combine it with the company buying back some shares or using the company cash as collateral would even make it even easier.

Just wait and see if and whn it happens. IMO PSA will no longer exist as a public company in a couple of years.
