Pit of stupidity -

1. The post mining void will be full of water with overflow events needed perpetual management - they should be happier if in fact it was going to be an "ugly gaping hole".

2. 10km distance from a volcano is no hindrance to mining. Some volcanos themselves are mined - Lihir being one example.


The propaganda machine on both sides tends to drift embarrassing distances away from reality.
