yes i would say that the risks are a lot less now than they were a year ago.
Certainly an Eskom contract would give investors, and possibly RSA institutions, the motivation to start pumping money in.
The Eskom contract could be either to supply coal into the Mpumalanga stations (as per FSE) or, watch this space, a third power station to be built in the Waterberg. (this would be first prize since its likely location would be closer to the RES resource.
Re the Indian involvement, there are still rumblings about declaring lower grade coal a strategic asset (for Eskom) and I see curbs being placed on the export of ower grade coals.
Dont forget that RSA is still a largely Eurocentric economy and as such the Euro economic woes still give us hiccoughs and make investors jittery.
