The Chinese are the most pragmatic of all races.
All they care about is their own long term interest. I like that. They will not dabble in other countries's business and politics. They just get on with things.
They know MMX waited all this time for the BFS to drive a hard bargin in the price and that we even hired a saleman for the effort.
They have been prepared for many months that striking the iron (pardon the pun) while it's hot will get them what they failed to do for so long.

Seriously, POSCO is the largest Asian steel mill and they have a much bigger stake in MMX. Can never rule them out. Imagine all the steel Seoul needs to rebuild North Korea one day.
Xstrata is dying to get into iron ore as they have stated clearly they want to be a force outside of coal and copper.
