That makes sense about the CLC. Only took me a couple of minutes to find out that in the Northern Territory, it takes on average, 3 years to get consent (or refusal).

Sadly, CTP has been in the process to gain title grants on the Wiso tenements since at least 2006 (going from CTPs 2006 quarterly). So that's 8 years! I cannot deny that even to me that is ridiculous. The main reason as explained by the CLC is that it takes time to organize meetings with all the land title claimants...

I mean, there are only 24,000 Aboriginals who live in the southern half of NT. Crazy stuff.

I have not looked into all the Amadeus tenement applications but I assume many of those have been ongoing for a long time too. I wonder if RC, now having been in the job for quite a while, has moved heaven and earth to get these negotiation sped up (of course, to a large extent it is out of his hands), but surely he can at least say to the NT government that perhaps they should take a greater interest in the suboptimal time it takes to progress title grants.
