Well, the reporter, Nelson Moura, did convert AU 13.8B to USD 9B without a hiccup. If it was a typo would have wrote something like USD 2.5B.
But it is strange that someone in Macau had this information but not us in Australia?
Maybe he has an insider in Genting and bidders usually do know other bidders' offers. Genting might also be close to Far East and Chow Tai Fook.
BTW Nelson is a freelance Writer for AGB and is #openforwork as per LinkedIn, so yea, credibility is shrouded.
