Superannuation is in a lot of trouble if SGR collapses. The whole thing, never replicated anywhere else globally, was in massive trouble in 2008/9 when Babcock and Brown collapsed. The Rudd Government by massive stimulus had to basically destroy modern capitalism in Australia to save the superannuation system.
2025 is different to 2008/9. If Star collapses, the Government whoever that is during 2025, might not be as able as the Rudd Government was to save the superannuation system.
Star Entertainment can't collapse IMHO if the proponents of super, historically the ALP, want the superannuation system to survive.

Letting Star Entertainment collapse will have massive downstream impacts on the Australian economy and the superannuation system would have to be changed such that workers can withdraw their funds at call without tax penalty based on the negative sentiment surrounding the Star Entertainment collapse.
