On the contrary, people like me who dont carry cash and wouldnt gamble as such, would gamble as well because of the lure of easy access. And a lot of Aussies are in that boat nowadays due to economy going cashless.
Its convenient spending cashless money, and easier than spending paper money which you can feel and see going away from you. Same as buying lottery tickets online. Easier to buy frequently than going to a news agency every time.
Imagine if trading stocks would have still been a manual exercise at the stock pit, the volumes would be much lower. Trading volumes have blown up unprecedentedly because of the convenience of using cashless money.
Its all about convenience. Convenience drives spending.
