Governments LOVE power and obtaining power "for our own good". It is naive to think that Casinos (Star in particular) will be the only one subjected to their intrusiveness or power grabs and inevitable regulation. Anyone who thinks the latest digital ID bill will give people a legit "opt in" or "opt out" option have not been paying attention. Governments will eventually make it impossible to exist or partake in society unless you "opt in".

"Never let a serious crisis go to waste" and while it may appear that Star City is an isolated "bad actor", it's a GREAT opportunity for the government to target a high-profile company, make an example of them and then use it to the government's advantage by fast tracking their "vision". We see this playbook all too often of late and of course Star City is the "easy target" that will eventually usher in the same regulations for pubs and clubs.

Star is just an easy target that's easy to hate that won't get much public sympathy. Just like an Alex Jones type was an easy target when social media first started deplatforming people. Who wants to stand up for Alex Jones and the "slippery slope" argument? Meanwhile, a few years later social media platforms, at the behest of governments, were deplatforming world renowned Stanford professors who questioned the covid response. Even in Australia we have prominent women fighting in courts for their right to call a biological man a woman or to have "women only" spaces. OF COURSE, Star (SGR) is the Alex Jones of the gambling space and the government are rubbing its hands together to regulate the f..... out of the whole industry EVEN THE PUBS AND CLUBS.
