    Let's face it, the government won't let star fail. If they did they have the issue of the builder of queens wharf not getting paid and job losses for not only hospitality workers but the far more important (to government) building jobs!

    If it closed no other casino operator would take over as they are all tarred with the same brush and it would look like African style corruption to hand the license to a foreign operator or Crown (foreign owned) or Sky (foreign owned and being investigated)

    there is also the sovereign risk to overseas gaming businesses as casinos in OZ are subject to the whims of regulators whom themselves are crooked and shouldn't get a regulators license.

    also risk of government being sued as the government regulator is by no means an arms-length operator as its parent (government) is the prime beneficiary to gaming.

    so, do you really think the jewel in Australia's tourism crown would want to be without a casino/entertainment district?
