placement vs spp re: cheque worry . There are two cash raising components; a PLACEMENT and SHAREHOLDER PURCHASE PLAN announced 10/2/05:

"Allied Gold Limited announces a placement to raise up to $9,000,000 by the issue of 40,909,091 ordinary shares at 22 cents each (the Placement) and a
Shareholder Purchase Plan for the issue of up to a further 4,545,454 shares also at 22 cents each (the SPP) to raise up to an additional $1,000,000."

Yesterday's announcement advises the $9M placement is closed. No mention of the SPP:

"Closure of Placement
Allied Gold Limited advises that the placement to raise $9,000,000 pursuant to a prospectus dated 10 February 2005 has now closed, fully subscribed. The expected dated of allotment of the shares is 4 March 2005."
