I am a client of Hartley's for one of my accounts and I am a 'sophisticated investor' (like quite a few other traders here at HC) so I had pretty much a few hours to make a decision.
It wasn't shopped around beforehand to me so all that chit chat about lining the pockets of their mates isn't true in my case since I don't know management from a bag of poop.
If the company had a retail component then you can bet your bottom dollar the same whingers would be bleating and once the stock is sold down to the price of the offer the same whingers wouldn't have taken up any stock. This would drag on for weeks/months. It is no surprise they go to SI's and funds for cash to get it done and dusted.
