A recent article on our new bed follows:

Sylvania completes PGM recovery plants

Sylvania Resources subsidiary, Sylvania Minerals (Pty) Ltd has completed the construction of two platinum group metal recovery plants. The company has also concluded an off-take agreement with Anglo American Platinum Corporation subsidiary, Rustenburg Platinum Mines Limited, for platinum group metal concentrates produced by the Sylvania Millsell recovery plant.
The Millsell plant, operating since June 10, is currently ramping up production, with the full design level of 590oz 4E PGM per month expected prior to the end of November.

Sylvania said the Steelpoort plant was being wet commissioned, with first production expected before the end of August.

In spite of later than anticipated completion, Sylvania said production at Millsell had been very close to budget, with cumulative production to end July totalling 186oz 4E PGM.

Sylvania Chief Executive Officer, Terry McConnachie said that successfully completing these platinum recovery plants marked real progress in SylvaniaÕs assertive growth plans.

ÒThe cash flow generated by these projects will play a key part in SylvaniaÕs business growth model,Ó he said.
