onetonne ute man, it is the farminee that has insisted on an additional agreement with jv-partners, as they want to drill this thing and bring it to market, without a clown somewhere throwing a spanner in the works.
I've dealt with these sorts of transactions many times, mainly in the pharma sector, and I can tell you, a large multinational does not go to the BOD approval stage, conduct detailed dus-diligence including reciprocal exec visits and let a small clause get in the way.
I'm sure MEO and farminee have an "agreement" to progress, and given they have time before drilling, are trying to flood the rabbit out of its hole!
