People who hack tend to over state their claims. Even cars dont use IP networks to link all the kit together, Tesla is the only car who has done that.

I find it very hard to believe that all the flight equipment is on the same layer2 network as the entertainment system, especially when that stuff is installed seperate to the aircraft itself.

Planes are sold with the cabin space all empty, the airline then fits it out indepenently to the aircraft manufacturer. bit like renting a factory...
