Plasmas DO use a lot of power. I read somewhere (I know it's true, I read it on the web) that Britain needs to build more power stations just to feed them.
But apart from being heavy the old CRT sets are OK. My sons bought Mrs H and I a new LCD to get us out of the stone age. We returned it next morning. Talking among their mates, that's not uncommon. LOL
