my retort however, is slightly less confronting. I would say to those who question climate change one question:
WHAT IF YOUR WRONG?
In science there is a principle called the Precautionary Principle. If there is insufficient certainty over a particular matter in question we are, as a sophisited being, compelled to be conservative.
So, if the scientists are wrong, then what is the loss? Well, lots of money poured into sustainable practices ...... Now if you call sustainable practices a loss then I suggest you do not think much of the next generation and their future.
Long story short we cannot afford to get the climate change issue wrong if it is happening. If it is happening and we do not prepare then I gaurentee you that life will be considerably more uncomfortable than the alternative - being prepared.
