at least the concept of evolution is "scientific" - and subject to critical analysis -some things might be wrong, and some things might be correct . with creationism, it is simple - that "god" (whoever god is!!) created everything. the christian god was originally nothing more than the god of a very few wondering nomads - at at time, when there were great civilizations blah blah blah. every religion, has their own creation stories - including indigenous australians.

to counter the evolutionists in the class room (something to do with some american supreme court ruling that prevented creationism being taught in schools), some group came up with the idea of "intelligent design". of course the proponents of this "intelligent design" believed that it was the "christian god" that made everything. however, if one thinks about it, even if there was something called "intelligent design", that in itself does not prove the existence of the christian god,

as a sideline, it was the russians that were the first to put a man into space - because scientifically, they were miles ahead of the americans - so the americans changed there thinking, and made science more important in the classroom - yes, they had to get rid of a lot of the religious thinking.

just as well, that people questioned what the christian church used to preach - otherwise we would still be thinking that the world was flat, and that europe was the centre of the universe
