I can trace him back to the mid 90s, working on this. So at least 20 years. If you know he was working this 10 years previously, then that must have been the very early, and did not do very much in those early 10 years.
Even being granted the PMA in 2002, the first trial of any size, SIRFLOX, didn't get published data until 2015. People seriously underestimate the time scales involved with implantable medical devices, when the SOC is a pill, or Chemo. For one thing, and it is substantial, there are a limited number of centres that can perform nuclear medicine.
