Galloway and Tariq Ali are quite correct and the same condemnation will apply to Howard should the unthinkable happen and Australians lose their lives in a similar attack. It will be our "reward" for participating in an action which was manifestly not in this country's best interests apart from the many other considerations.
From a pragmatist's point of view, the approach of the coalition is now increasingly being seen as failed since it has had no effect other than to escalate the terror attacks. This is the nature of guerila warfare. There can be no victroy only continuous skirmish, surprise attack and retaliation. This is not a conventional war as we know it even though it is painted as such by the politicians and idealogues who wish to mislead us. The only solution will be political.
It will require the people of the developed world to rise up and inform their politicians that their current approach can never work. The Bushes, Blairs, Putins and Howards of the world must be shown the error of their ways...
