miles,your bias is proven by this very statement.first of all there are 2 aspects to this point-the short term effect and the long term effect.i'm sure u would realise our enemy thinks long term.hope so.
surely you realise large parts of the middle east have been brought up from birth to believe the west are evil people who would eat your children if they had the chance.so obviously there is not only a downside to the initial actions in iraq but also a far larger potential upside that people will say...hang on a minute-why on earth is iraq doing better than we are.maybe the usa are not evil.
if you are interested in the share market you would understand risk versus reward.there is no perfect way.
