chairman kevin hayes last mth announced his intention to stand down from the committee at the agm in nov following the completion of a 3 yr term in the top role
mr hayes sucessor will be detremined at the club's committee meeting following on from the agm

mr hayes first joined the club's committee in 1991 the former md and chairman of cadbury schweppes was elected as vice chairman of malbourne racing club(mrc) in 1998 and assumed the chairman's role in nov 1999
confident that the mrc is well advanced in the implementation of its strategic vision and moving forward positively mr hayes is comfortable to be vacating the chair at this time

mrc chief executive peter sweeney paid tribute to mr hayes who he said has been chairman through one of the most significant and exciting periods in the club's long history
