The long term price of gold will only go up, despite fluctuations. You only need to look at the state of the global financial system, it is a basket case. Low or near zero interest rates and central banks creating trillions in fake money to prop up a failing monetary system which devalues all currencies. Gold is real wealth. BGL's SP may also fluctuate, but given its ever improving credentials, it is probably the safest speculative investment currently available. So it is a matter of a longer term view.
