I asked straightforward questions and only expected the facts back in return.
I disagree that they are not gaming results. They get to make estimates each quarter of future losses and of reduced value of portfolio holdings. Those are not pure guesses, but they certainly are not hard facts either. The net effect of this gaming is that their earnings is always less than their cash flow. They pay less tax on the cash they take in today. I think it's brilliant. I am just wondering how many others are observant of it.
