My ego isn't so fragile that I need to give away money to try and buy the approval of random people on the internet when posting under a meaningless username, and I highly doubt the other people who donated were doing it for some weird anonymous ego kick. Posting about donating helps the thread trend and gives others a very gentle nudge to consider doing the same. It's a bit different to you mouthing off with whatever trivial bullsh*t enters your empty head when you're down at the TAB.
