to play the market, if a stock is not moving anyway or no shares changing hands..Traders will fool the market by buying or selling few shares each time to make the SP moving up or down to acheive their objective..gradually..and hopefully..new buyer and sellers will start jumping in..This can be useful on low liquidity stock.
Another reason is they want to drive you nuts .. and spoil your weekend..
