Yes Crazy! But I have seen similar actions take place at auctions.
The last time this occurred the place was listed as sold that day at a figure quite a bit higher than was bid by the vendor at the auction. My assumption was it was that buyer as no one else put in any bids and he put in three (against himself)
I have stated before people should not bid at auctions but would be better placed if they employed their own buyer’s agent to bid for them, or at least someone who knows what they are doing.
A buyer’s agent cost money but the savings could be substantial as most of the bidders are immature in how auctions work
