There has been a significant uptick in past day or two, currently coal is trading at US$57.42 (ex Newcastle?).
Throughout July, 5500k thermal coal was trading at around CNY 572 (US$81.92)

Massive disparities there after considering shipping cost.
Northern winter starts in 3 months, and you need thermal coal to keep warm... the stockpile will start soon. While WHC, YAL sell their bulk of produce to Japan, Korea etc., another rise in coal price is inevitable which ever way I'm looking at it.
