    Guys,
    I too think this curious. There are twooptions here, namely
    1. NO oil found
    If this is the case I cannot see any reason for Shell to travel all that way; not even for political purposes to keep the Govt on side.

    2. Some oil found - but not enough for Shell
    If this is the case there may be political justification for Shell to travel all that way to keep peace with the Govt. This may also be true if they (Shell) want to lobby for a friendly (part owned) company to be given the inside running to partner FAR in the next stage and an extension of the lease. It would aslo give them the opportunity to commit their technical support to that "friendly" if they were given the green light.

    There has to be a very good reason; it's not part of the FAR/Shell agreement that I've seen anywhere.
