@dollarballer: I suggest you start doing your research by reading the "Technology" page on the AKP website. They also have good primer videos in the videos section. They will allow you to become more informed, if that is really what you would like.

    1) Look at the diagram that shows the MEMS pixel array reconstructing a composite sound wave-front that is coming out from the pixel array. This wavefront (sound) is built up from the digital sound signal stream that switches the pixels on/off sequentially. The pulse of each pixel being added to the wave creates the instantaneous sound pressure (amplitude), and the frequency pattern of the wave over time is created by the choreography of them being switched on/off to add to the changing sound pattern (e.g. music). The pixels are not tiny speakers chirping together. If you do not yet understand this you need to do a bit of reading in order to understand how revolutionary AP's technology really is.

    2) The cleanroom has to have all the fans on all the time to filter the airflow to make it a cleanroom. If you turn fans off a lot of debris will suddenly fall off the filters and float away into the air. All the little floaty bits that are constantly coming off people's clothing etc, and from machinery moving, then tend to jam the MEMS mechanism.
