Your opening post was an attempt to build an argument that a "team" or group is a form of socialism and will fail.

Your argument ignored "teams" and groups do work together and do succeed, sporting teams were one example.

So you don't believe organisations, companies, governments, armed services, etc.... who consist of a "team" or group, can be successful in a singular result when they work together?

Your opening post example also ignored what does happen in an educational environment when each member of a group is measured and is part of the final outcome.

I know from my study days, the people who were weaker in the group got assistance and were able to lift their performance to achieve a good result that they would not have otherwise achieved.

The students in your example were not competing with each other, so it is a big stretch claiming it is about "removing the element of competitiveness".

Your "socialism" (teams\groups) = "failure" argument is flawed, teams and groups work together successfully everyday in our society in many ways.
