No discount on the VWAP from WBC so do your part for us who actually will see a nice compounded return over the long run and don't fret too much about day-to-day movements. Considering the mess the world is in Westpac's results and conservative strategy is not looking too bad. An .80 dividend (75% Payout ratio) is quite generous and leaves 25% plowed back into the bank and remember that in Australia over the past 100 years approximately 73% of ALL share returns have come via dividends, NOT capital gains, its really nice to get both, but its even nicer to get a quasi-guarantee with cash dividends that are fully franked as well upping your actual after tax return handsomely. IMO/DYOR always.
