re: is this Gareth, ah, shades of the Poltech ghost!~
Bit of history. About 3 years ago Poltech 'won' the contract for speed cameras on the Westgate Bridge (with a little help from a couple of individuals in the Vic Govt dept since departed). Included in the contract was a lot of signage, actually the $ amount for the signage was more than the $ amount for the speed cameras. Poltech had lined up a sub contractor to do the signage but there was a small problem. Poltech did not have ISO certification which was required. So they signed the contract over to the signage mob who did have ISO certification and Poltech then became the subcontractor and could operate under the ISO certification of the signage mob.
Thanks to their friends in the Vic Govt Poltech had been able to advance draw a lot of the cost, an attempt was made to start installing but then fate intervened and Poltech went belly up. Huge to do with everyone blaming everyone else. The whole thing had a real stink about it and I believe Redflex to this day have wisely avioded any involvement in that particular project.
