    "The more people the US test the more cases they'll have but the mortality rate is still coming down so logic tells us that cases are still declining." That's the dumbest argument I've ever heard. Please tell me you don't actually believe that?

    The mortality rate declining doesn't prove that cases are declining! If the mortality rate was dropping to zero maybe you'd have a point, but with a mortality rate far above average and one that is only now declining to a point considered more reasonable, that's far from the point! And the reason the mortality rate was so high previously? The most logical explanation was the explosion of cases in New York where makeshift huts were set up as ICU's and sick people were turned away! What you're seeing now is a mortality rate more reflective of everyone getting treatment that needs it. But it's only a matter of time (days likely) before health systems are locally overwhelmed again.
