I am going to read-up on this mine Impala attempted to TO. As i have written B4, PGMs release heat due to mild radio-activity in the orebody. But it is very significant regarding mining costs. A PGM mine at 500m depth requires same cooling as Au mine at 1500m depth! Huge flows of ice-cold refriderated air need to be pumped 24/7 into the underground area. Simply too hot for humans otherwise. The energy costs are astronomical, and RSA has history of power outages. Hence, if this mine featured in TO article is deep.... what value does one put on a resource that has substantial PGM deposits that are shallow!?! Not all NKPs PGMs are shallow, and yes chrome will make refining more complex/costly.... but seems big companies are looking to acquire and NKP may tick enough boxes. Exciting times.
