Long term, consolidation is probably a good move, however it's likely the company simply floated the idea as a wish list, then logged onto to HC and other market forums to sound out the response, and so abandoned it.
The point is, they are in a cashed up financial position, have a good revenue stream from Galoc and sit on oil assets worth plenty. So why rock the boat by advancing a future plan.
Nido is a small company, however their good management is now more visible
