The gold mine decision was 100% political. Its Labors way of clawing back some lost ground on the failed Voice. They are trying to tell everyone that they are the good guys around Aboriginal issues. They need to hold the moral high ground, even its deeply flawed. Anyone who questions this is a racist of course. That old guilt job was designed to shout down bad ideas.
The only problem is that it's arbitrary and produces job-killing outcomes. Labor doesn't care about jobs in the regional areas or it would have found ways to make this work. Jacinta is on to them. It's because these areas don't vote for them. If this was a Labor stronghold, you can be sure they would have found a solution. They always make political decisions over common sense. It's why the country keeps going backward under these screwballs. The Palestinian visa saga is another middle finger to common sense. That will only cause division and possible bad outcomes, but it helps them secure the Muslim vote. They made bad decisions on borders for many years in Australia. They keep making them because they are broken. All they have to do is do proper checks and refuse entry to anyone they think is a problem. Better to be safe than sorry. They will do the opposite. It's like Kamala Harris border mess all over again. The Minister is also woefully unqualified and is lying to people about how the company can make a simple adjustment to the tailings dam. She is either ignorant or making up lies to justify a terrible mistake.
