After the next election, Gillard will be vanquished and will resign from parliament. Presumably she will be replaced by someone like Shorten, Combet, maybe Rudd, opposing Prime Minister Abbott. The vitriolic atmosphere will dissipate for one reason, and one reason alone - the precipitator of it will be gone. She'll be busy with her lawyers.
